Clash of Steel: American M60 Patton Platoon

The M60 Patton evolved out of the earlier M48 tank and became the primary tank used by the US Army and Marine Corps. The M60 featured a 105mm gun that gave it an edge over its predecessor as well as being comfortably able to penetrate Soviet T-54 tanks that were appearing in increasing numbers.
The armour of the M60 was also considerably improved by redesigning the front hull shape of the tank and increasing the thickness in some places.
New Technology
The M60 combined a highly accurate gun with state-of-the-art rangefinders and ballistic computers to help gunners land their shots on target.
Infra-Red
Thanks to an infra-red searchlight and periscopes for the gunner, the chances of American forces getting the first shot during battles at night were significantly improved.
