1/600 Majorcan Privateer Flags
Sheet showing several textured paper historical flags of a 17th cent. to 1715 Majorcan privateer. Sizes: ensign W12 x L18 mm, mast flags W8 x L12 mm, jack W6 x L9 mm, pennant W4 x L48 mm.
As with other States of the Crown of Aragon, at some point around 17th century Balearic ships began to favor the use of plain white flags with the Kingdom of Majorca coat of arms in a central position, to the detriment of the traditional yellow-red stripped flags (probably with the aim to make them resemble more to those of other regions of the Spanish Empire). This configuration can be used for Balearic merchant ships and corsairs alike, in all probability until 1715.
