T-26E Turrets (x5)
(SU005)
includes five T-26E turrets with AA MG & Turret-rear MG options & one Tank Commander sprue.
In an attempt to up-armour the T-26, the Factory No. 174 designed appliqué armour that could be retro-fitted to existing single turreted T-26 tanks during the Winter War.
Attached to the front and side of the turret using a combination of blunt bolts and welding techniques, the extra 30mm to 40mm of armour could successfully resist 45mm anti-tank projectiles at ranges of 400m to 500m. These up-armoured versions of the T-26 were designated T-26E (E meaning ekanirovki or screened).
A total of 69 T-26E tanks saw service during the Winter War; with reports from the field stating that the Finnish light anti-tank guns were unable to successfully penetrate the armour of the upgraded tanks.
Limited Vision
In order to pack more into small tanks, some tank designers reduced the crew to a minimum and severely
limited the number of vision devices. Thus, the tanks require the commander to operate as a somewhat vision-impaired gunner as well.
Tanks with Limited Vision add +1 to the score required to hit when shooting any weapon except an AA MG at
targets that are entirely behind a line drawn across the front of the tank’s turret before they rotate their turret to face the target.
Tanks with Limited Vision must rotate their turret to point straight ahead when they move.
Overloaded
Super-heavy tanks and heavily-laden assault guns often overload their engines and suspensions, making them very poor at crossing obstacles.
When required to take a Bogging Check to cross Difficult Going, an Overloaded vehicle becomes Bogged Down on a roll of 1 or 2, rather than the usual 1. An Overloaded vehicle must re-roll successful Skill Tests to cross Very Difficult Going.
Unreliable
Whether poorly designed, unsuitable for the conditions, or requiring more maintenance than current supply considerations will allow, these vehicles have a significant chance of breakdown when pushed too hard.
If an Unreliable vehicle attempts to move At the Double, roll a die. On a roll of 1 the vehicle becomes Bogged Down.
