includes one Command Rifle team, one Observer Rifle team, four ML 4.2" mortars with crew, one Small three-hole base, one Small two-hole base, four Large six-hole bases, & two Base plug sprues.

The Ordnance Muzzle Loading 4.2” mortar was first developed by the British during World War Two to supplement the exciting stocks of 2” and 3” mortars.
The ML 4.2” mortar served the British forces well during the war and it continued to serve well into the post-war years with both British Army and numerous foreign nations around the world. One such nation was Jordan, who fielded the ML 4.2" mortar against the Israeli Defence Force during the Six-Day War.

Observer teams need a good view of the battlefield in order to do their job correctly. Be sure to deploy them in a position where they have an excellent view of the battlefield such as on a hilltop or on the top floor of a multi-level building.

Sometimes your weapons won’t destroy the enemy quickly enough to prevent them from wreaking havoc on your own troops first. One way to protect your troops in the meanwhile is to fire smoke at the enemy to temporarily impair their vision.
Only weapons listed as having the Smoke attribute in their Arsenal may fire smoke. Some weapons can also fire Smoke Bombardments (see page 136 of the main rulebook).

An infantry brigade’s artillery consisted of a platoon of light, but powerful, Ordnance Muzzle Loading 4.2” mortars. These WWII-era British mortars delivered the punch of medium artillery, yet were mobile enough to support the infantry in rough Terrain.
