15S-AML-102 this is a 15Standard 4Ground model with high detail and pre-painted parts.

Blockhouses were used originally as part of a fort to provide strong points in defence, eventually in areas which needed guarding but were either not suitable or financially viable for a fortification the blockhouse would be placed on its own. Some of these blockhouses eventually became forts in their own right as they had additional blockhouses and palisades built around them. Blockhouses like this one were often built by the community as a location of last resort for the Militia if the town was under attack.

Once a community had established itself they would if under threat form a Militia, the Militia was called on by the county and would be used to stop raiders or invaders. Militia men would bring their own weaponry, clothing and equipment which would lead to Militia units having an odd assortment of equipment. If the Militia needed to defend their town they would often fall back to the blockhouses.

Militia Blockhouses were regularly built from early 1700s and were still being built in the American Civil War.
